MEASURE 23-24
After arriving on the G octave on the downbeat of measure 23, we begin dissipating energy to close the piece of music.
Measure 23 is technically only half of the closing idea, but it is worth focusing on as its own unit for technical purposes.
General Practice Strategies:
Practice each line of the double-stops separately, to hear it melodically and to hear the intonation.
Work on connecting each note to the next, eliminating audible shifts or adjustments.
Develop this as one arc, dynamically. This should take us from about mezzo-forte to piano.
Keep an open hand frame, to help reach the intervals.
Place fingers gently on the strings, feeling contact with the fleshy part of the finger pad to produce a deep, resonant tone.
Vibrato in this phrase can be slower and more relaxed.

Shift to first position for the first slur in measure 23, beginning on 4th finger with a chromatic hand frame.
The double-stops are in first position, and are all thirds.

Return to the previous 1-3 double stop.
