IN THIS LESSON

LET’S DIVE IN TO SOME SPECIFIC HAND FRAMES AND EXTENSIONS THAT APPEAR IN MAZAS #26.

Left Hand Exercises

A) Measure 1-2: Instead of playing a 2-3 extension, use a low 2nd finger and a low 4th finger. This approach eliminates the need to adjust hand frames between strings, providing more stability and consistency in your playing.

B) Measure 3: Practice extending your first finger back, reaching from B to Ab. This exercise helps improve finger reach and accuracy.

C) Measure 4-5: Focus on the 2-3 extension from B back to Ab in the third position on the D string. Ensure that your hand frame remains steady and does not 'wander' during the stretch.

D) Measure 6-7: Work on the spacing of your 4th finger extension on the A string. This will enhance your finger stretch and overall hand positioning.

By incorporating these targeted exercises into your practice routine, you'll develop greater finger independence, accuracy, and control, which are crucial for mastering the etude.
